Storytellers from Cowboy Poets to Native American Indians are part of the rich tapestry of our area's history. This concert celebrates the great storytellers of classical music. Mendelssohn, Tchaikovsky and Rimsky-Korsakov take us on magical, musical rides threaded with folklore and riveted with thrilling, musical virtuosity.
STILIAN KIROV, Associate Conductor of the Seattle Symphony takes the podium for this musical adventure.
Praised for her "glowing sound" and "technical aplomb" (The Strad), violinist ELISA BARSTON is currently the Principal Second Violinist of the Seattle Symphony Orchestra. She previously served as the Associate Concertmaster of the Saint Louis Symphony Orchestra, and was a first violin section member of the Cleveland Orchestra.
As a soloist, Ms. Barston has performed extensively throughout the United States, Europe, and Asia, with many major symphony orchestras including: Chicago, Los Angeles, Saint Louis, Seattle, and Taipei.
