Prolific and majestic describes the rich, recognizable and classic masterpieces of Schumann, Strauss and Liszt. The Amarillo Symphony takes on these "Warhorses" that audiences thrive on. We'll also introduce the winner of Amarillo Symphony and WTAMU's Young Composer's Initiative, who may produce the "Warhorse" of the future.

JULIAN SCHWARZ, born in 1991 to a musical family, is already being recognized as one of this country's finest cellists. He made his orchestral debut at age 11 with The Seattle Symphony and since then has performed with orchestras throughout the U.S. In Fall 2013, he was a featured soloist with the All Star Orchestra for national public television, performing the Samuel Jones Cello Concerto. He has recorded twice for the Naxos Label: a world and a recording of Gerard Schwarz's "In Memoriam" (2006) and a recording of traditional concertos (2009). This concert will be a highlight for classical musical purists that thrive on passion and masterful technique.
